Persuaders And Shysters
By Damon Cart
In life you run across two types - persuaders and shysters. If you’re a persuader:
  • You’re not attached to your outcome, though you are laser sharp when it comes to knowing what you want and the strategies you want to test in order to get it, which seems key to…
  • Being flexible and adaptable to nearly any situation so you always find the opportunity that is hidden from most people.
  • You’re connected to your values, yet you’re unwilling to settle. You’re always looking for an edge even if it’s not there because if it’s not, you’ll create it.
  • Others describe you as confident and trustworthy. You know who you are, what you can deliver, and what you cannot deliver. You don’t need to boast because your actions speak more for you than words.
  • You’re sympathetic and withhold judgment of others unless it serves the situation, not just yourself. You’ve experienced failures and know some people are working through a hard time and would appreciate small gestures like your kind words.
  • Because you’ve persisted through hard times bouncing back better than you were before, resilience is the language you speak.
As a result…
You Focus On Value - Getting
And Providing The Most Value Possible
Many sales people masquerade as persuaders but, sadly, are shysters. How can you spot one? Shysters:
  • Only see what they can get from people instead of how they can provide value to others.
  • Lack a sense of self so they constantly seek validation from others for their self-worth.
  • Make decisions that only serve themselves rather than what’s good for all.
  • Compare themselves to others especially people they perceive as lower than them in order to feel better about themselves.
  • Describe what happens to them from the perspective of being at Effect (victim) rather than cause. In other words, they rarely take responsibility for the condition of their lives and circumstances because it’s everyone else’s “fault”.
  • Despite how good or bad their financial situation is, their mindset is always scarcity and never abundance.
Persuaders Invest In Opportunities; Shysters Just
Want To Take What They Can And Run
What does this have to do with you and your ability to create the life and the success you want?

Everything.

There are two ways to be successful in life. The first is to put your head down and work as much as you possibly can for as long as you can.

This will never not be a thing. You can always trade your time, sweat, and effort for money. It has value. Someone will pay you for what you can do whether it’s working for minimum wage or working as a CEO for a major corporation.

This is usually the way most of the working population makes money from your first job and on into your career. Few people stray outside of this model. Even though this usually takes starting out at the bottom and working your way for several years to get an upper level position that pays well, it’s common so people settle for it.
This approach is called starting at the bottom.
Start At The Top!
Communication is the single most important ingredient to be successful no matter how you define success. Many types of people are successful in many different ways and in many different areas of life, but the one thing they have in common is their ability to communicate.

Improve your ability to communicate, more specifically your ability to persuade and influence, and you will double, triple, and sometimes even quadruple your rate of success.

Focus specifically on improving your communication skills by becoming more persuasive and more influential, and success is nearly guaranteed.

Ever wonder why only 5% of the world’s population owns more than 71% of its wealth?

Now I’m not necessarily saying that’s a good thing. But it doesn’t have to be all bad for you either if you can learn how to cut yourself into the better end of this equation and claim what’s yours, which is a lot easier than trying to change the world.

Most people are not born persuaders, yet it is something you can learn and master and prosper from. It also doesn’t take 10,000 hours nor 10 years either.

You can do it in a year or even in a few months if you commit to becoming a persuader and avoid becoming a shyster, who has to use high pressure and questionable practices to get results.

Unfortunately, people who seem to be born with the gift of persuasion often don’t fully appreciate their talent and often don’t fulfill their potential. They squander it because they don’t truly appreciate what they have in them.

Very few people, even full time sales people, take the time to really learn, hone, and practice this craft, which is exactly why there are so few at the top.

That means, of the people reading this, only about .3% (that decimal is not a typo), will actually get serious enough about persuasion and use it to succeed to a degree they probably right now can’t even imagine…

…Which is great news for them by the way because as you step into becoming a persuader…
PERSUADERS Leave Their Competitors In The Dust
You’ve probably heard that in order to win big, you have to do what everyone else is unwilling to do. Sales and persuasion are no exceptions.

How are you going to double your sales? Negotiate more deals? Lead a team to victory?

Even though there’s more information floating around right now than ever in human history, people are still doing things the same old way, the familiar, “natural” way.

And people wonder why they’re still getting the same mediocre results.

So what is the SECRET to becoming a great persuader?

That’s just it. It really isn’t a secret at all. It’s quite obvious.

Persuaders will pay large sums of money for value but are notoriously tight with their money when it comes to buying things that they don’t perceive as an investment in themselves- that millionaire who never buys Starbucks Frappuccinos but will charter a private jet to visit his favorite country in Europe for example.

Persuaders spend plenty of money but spend more money on self-education and knowledge than anything else.
Shysters tend to avoid paying for knowledge. They prefer to get it for free, even though the most costly advice is bad advice… even if it’s free.

If it was secret knowledge to you a moment ago, now you know what creates the .3%.
Knowing this I easily invest between $15,000 and $25,000 a year in trainings and with coaches and consultants because…
Any Edge You Can Get Compounds Year After Year Into Exponential Results
Let’s be clear though. I didn’t start out spending that much. Few people do. Actually few people ever even get started.
But once you see the investments pay off, you know that doing anything else would be absurd; not only to keep investing in yourself but also to increase the investment in yourself year after year.

Persuaders self-educate because the right kind of knowledge is power. If you ever wonder “who would read all that copy?” Or watch a 2 hour webinar, the most likely answer is: a PERSUADER.

Besides knowledge, persuaders love support.

Here’s why: it’s tough when your income is directly dependent on your ability to persuade. Remember only .3% of you will pursue this path or are already on this path.

It’s lonely and there’s very little acknowledgement for your contributions. People are more likely to criticize salespeople, dealmakers, and leaders than praise their accomplishments.

How valuable is support to a persuader? It’s hard to overstate. This is why persuaders spend tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands a year on coaches, going to seminars, and joining mastermind groups.

Persuaders spend big but they’re not stupid about it. It’s value they seek.

Ever hear someone say, “What am I going to get if I spend money with you?” Red flag!

Shysters think in terms of what they get, persuaders think “what can it do for me?”. A persuader is happy to pay $5,000 for a 10 minute audio program if it leads to a $50,000 win.
A Bigger Win For A Persuader Than Money Is…
TIME.

Right now I’m working with a consultant who is the most persuasive person I know and probably the most successful. He just spent $10,000 for a personal tour of Disneyland for he and his family and that didn’t even include the five general admission tickets he had to purchase to get everyone in the door.

Why did he do it?

In addition to his kids getting to walk in the Disney parade and the tour itself, he didn’t want to wait 3 hours in line for a ride. He didn’t even want to do Fast Track, which only gets you to the front of the line for 3 rides. The tour gets you to the front of the line of all rides for the entire day.

He did this because his consulting fee is more than $3,000 an hour. In other words, it was cheaper for him to pay the $10,000 to not wait in line for three hours for a single ride.

With the right persuasion skills, most people could employ their own “skip the line strategy” and make 5x profits, yet don’t. Often people settle for spending nickels and dimes not realizing they could be spending big money for even greater value.

What can you do with all this? First, the best place to start is to commit to becoming a persuader. However…
Wanting To Be A Persuader Doesn’t Guarantee You Will Achieve The Kind Of Mind Blowing Results You’re Capable Of
You need a powerful process and a guide who can shine light on your blind spots; someone who can illuminate your individual path to fulfilling your potential.

What am I talking about?

For the first time ever I’m going to coach a select few to step into their full potential as true persuaders.
I’m pulling every tool out of my tool chest for this one.

This article is not a pitch for you to sign up. Most of you reading this are not exactly shysters, yet currently you’re not in sales, dealmaking, or leadership. You’re an aspiring persuader. You’re on your way but you’re just not there yet. When the time is right, perhaps we will work together.

This letter is for persuaders who want that extra edge and who are unsure if working with me is the best value for your investment. I cannot say right now if it is, but I know how to find out.

There’s a few of you who I know if you read this and you respond to what I’m going to ask you to do, this is going to be a complete game changer.

Now for a lot of you this isn’t going to make sense. But for a vital few of you who I’m reaching out to, this is going to be the one thing that you’re going to look back on and say “Wow! This is the best thing I’ve done for myself in many, many years.”

Here’s the deal:

There’s a lot of ways you can use NLP, but one of the most effective ways that people use NLP is to help them become more persuasive. And maybe persuasion is not something you need on a daily basis, but I would argue that everybody needs it. But if you’re more persuasive as a sales person and you’re able to double your sales; for some people that means extra millions of dollars.

And even average sales people who double their sales become above average sales people and they make hundreds of thousands of dollars more per year.

When you’re putting together deals and you’re in high negotiation situations, and you have partnership opportunities, joint ventures, or if you need to pitch an idea to raise money, the secrets of NLP persuasion are worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Now if you’re just starting out, while persuasion is an absolute vital foundation to your success in life, learning some of the secrets I’m going to share with you aren’t going to immediately make you a lot wealthier.

You’re still several steps away.

I’m still with you, which is why I have my online trainings and my membership program. That’s more your flavor.
But there’s a couple of you that I know if I could work with you one-on-one, I could unlock within you those millions of dollars and those thousands of extra free hours that are just waiting to be claimed.

Now when I created this, are you the person I had in mind? Here’s how we find out. I want you to check this out.

If you want to be ultra, ultra persuasive whether you’re selling one to many or one to one, these are four things that you need to do in step that will unlock a whole potential for you.

Some people do this naturally but some people don’t.

First of all, you have to understand the values of who you’re reaching because people make decisions based on their values. The second thing you have to do is elicit the criteria of their values so that you know how they experience their values.

The value is their why.

The criteria is their how.

The third thing is you have to find out where that value is absent in their life. We call that pain pinpointing. Sometimes we have to show them where that value is absent for them.

Next you decide if what you have is moldable to their values and offer it to them in a way that they get the value they’re wanting.

That’s not selling. Selling is what everyone else tries to do. This is a whole different experience.

You may be wondering why I’ve never taught this before and that’s because here’s the problem. If you invest in a program and you don’t have people you can use this with the very next day in a sales situation, on a consistent basis, or if you’re not out there marketing your product or marketing yourself or someone else; if you’re not involved in a high stakes situation, it will be a long time before you can immediately use it an apply it.

That’s why I’ve never created it, because I’ve spent most of my career focusing on people at the beginning part of their journey when they’re starting out.

But I realize, for a few of you, I’m really doing a disservice by doing that because some people, I’m confident, I could reach today who are already in a situation where if they understand in one session how to figure out what other people’s values are, and then in the second session how to use criteria, pinpointing the pain where their values aren’t showing up, and then aligning their product or service to fit that criteria and value, they could double their income or better.

I’m confident there are just a few of you, at least, maybe there are more… but I know for a fact there are a couple of you, that if I walk you through this four step process, it will be a total game changer for you.
But here’s my dilemma. I don’t know how many of you this is a perfect fit for and I don’t know exactly how to find out specifically who this is for. So I’m going to try this out.

I want you to go click the button below and go to the next page to answer those questions. If you don’t answer the questions in a way that makes sense, it will tell me that you’re not the right fit for this coaching program.

But if you do answer these questions correctly, then here’s what I would like to do, not sell you on the coaching program, but have a simple 30 minute conversation just to make sure. Because here’s what I want to happen, I want to take every coaching client I get and make them a 100% success because this is going to be expensive. It’s going to be $5K to do this coaching.

So what is success to me?

Success for me is when you pay me $5K and you make at least $50K back in a short time period.

Now obviously you’re going to make money and everyone is going to be successful in the long term but I want short term successes.

I’m only going to do this with a handful of people. When I get a 100% success rate with these people, then we’re going to take this process -after it’s perfected by doing these series of calls individually with the right type of people- and we’re going to build out the methodology.

And that’s when we’re going to make it the greatest knowledge product you’ve ever seen.

But I hate for you to buy the product later on when you can get the coaching and the experience firsthand. I would hate for you to get it on iTunes instead of going to the concert in other words.

If this sounds like it might be right for you, go to step 2 by clicking the button below and answering a few questions and then we’ll determine what we need to do together next.
